Responsibilities:

Chicago Advisory Group is seeking a Senior Accounting Policy Specialist for our banking practice.

• Keep current the comprehensive Financial Reporting manual (instructions and accounting guidance on policies, regulations, disclosures, and best practices)
• Review and compare the accounting policies, financial statements and footnote disclosures of the individual banks to the accounting policies, financial statements, and footnote disclosures of the bank's combined financial report
• Help educate accounting personnel in various technical accounting matters. Provide assistance on accounting research projects and other special projects
• Assist in the preparation of the combined annual and quarterly financial reports and address inconsistencies
• Provide assistance with implementing and maintaining compliance with the provisions of Sarbanes-Oxley 404
• Provide assistance with the preparation of materials for the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and Accounting and Disclosure Committee deliberations as needed
• Provide assistance in the department's participation on the various CFO and Controller subcommittees.

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university
• CPA with a minimum of six years relevant work experience
• Big 4 and financial services expertise
• Strong technical and research skills, including detailed knowledge and application of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, as well as mortgage banking industry regulations
• The ability to initiate and complete work assignments effectively and in a timely manner, with minimal supervision
• The ability to communicate and present effectively, both verbally and in writing
